Skipping:
Skipping is a simple and very effective method of improving stamina,footwork, balance, timing and general fitness. There are many different variations of skipping. Some of the easiest methods to use are: 1. Work in 3 minute rounds. 2. Change the speed/ pace every 10 seconds from slow to fast etc. 3. Practice different footwork variations like moving backwards and forwards of going round in circles etc. You can use your imagination to build on these few tips.
Blocking:
Although we practice specific blocking techniques’s, a very simple method to protect yourself is to simply not be there when your opponent strikes. This means you must work on improving your footwork, speed and body movements to enable quick reactions and the ability to see an attack before it happens and move quickly out of the way.
